Data Deletion
Two different requests
There are two things you can ask us for, and they are not the same. "Take it down" removes a player from public view and can be undone later. "Delete my data" erases what we hold and cannot be undone. If you are not sure which you want, ask for the first one: it stops the public part immediately and leaves the second available to you.
Take it down
We remove the Instagram posts, unpublish the profile page at debutory.com, and remove the entry from the Watchlist. The player stops being publicly visible. The material we produced and our correspondence with you are kept, so that if you change your mind the profile can be restored with fresh consent. Nothing is deleted by this request.
Delete my data
We delete the material we produced — photographs, video, the profile card, the written story — together with the player's record and our correspondence. This is permanent: once done, a profile cannot be restored and the material cannot be recovered, including by us.
The one thing we keep
After deletion we retain the record of the consent itself: who gave it, for what, when, and when it was withdrawn or deletion was requested. That record is the only evidence that we were entitled to process the data in the first place and that we carried out your request. It is kept for that purpose alone, it contains no material and no profile, and it is never used to contact anyone or to build anything.
How to ask
Email privacy@debutory.com, or send a direct message to @debutory. Tell us which of the two requests you are making and which player it concerns. If the player is under 18, the request comes from the parent or legal guardian — the same person who gave the consent.
Confirming who you are
Deletion cannot be undone, so before we carry it out we confirm that the request comes from the person entitled to make it. We do that through a channel already connected to you: the Instagram account we have been corresponding with, or the email address that signed the consent. We do not ask for identity documents, and we do not ask for anything beyond what is needed to be sure.
How long it takes
Within one month of the request. If a request is genuinely complicated we may need up to two months longer, and in that case we will tell you inside the first month, and why. Taking a profile down is not subject to that period — we do it as soon as we have the request.
Minors
A parent or legal guardian may make either request at any time, for any reason, and without giving one. Withdrawing consent is not a request we weigh against our own interest in keeping a page: it takes effect.
